June 16, Bass and Pike Tournament
Join the Long Lake Fish and Game Club on Saturday, June 16 for their annual Bass and Pike Fishing Derby. Registration will be between 6-6:30 a.m. at the Long Lake town beach. Bring your catch of the day back to the beach for the weigh between 3-3:30 p.m. The entry fee is only $25 and cash prizes will be awarded for pike, and largemouth and smallmouth bass!
June 24-27, Quilt Camp
The town of Long Lake and Log Cabin Fabrics are sponsoring this year's Adirondack Quilt Camp at Long Lake Central School. You will have the opportunity to take advantage of over 30 different classes, workshops, and lectures. Registration is $210 for three days of tuition, or $85 per day. Learn how to make a prismatic star, sew your own tote, perfect a pretzel twist, and more! This camp is designed for quilters of all ages and abilities.
July 4, 4th of July Celebration
This is your run of the mill 4th of July celebration, and then some! Taking place at the town ball field, there will be games for all ages with prizes to win! Enjoy live music at the town beach at 6p.m., get your face painted by Penelope, and enjoy food made by the Long Lake Fire Department. It's all followed by the best fireworks show in the Adirondacks, beginning at dusk!
July 21, Cardboard Box Float Off
Head to the Long Lake beach for the summer's first Cardboard Box Boat Float-Off! Just grab a box and some duct tape, and start building! Kids will have from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. to build their boats and then will hit the lake at 1 p.m. to test them out! The last man standing (or floating) wins!
July 21, U.S. Water Ski Show
This year, Long Lake will once again be home to the 7th annual U.S. Water Ski Show. This amazing day begins with demonstrations starting at 10 a.m., with the full show starting at 2 p.m. They will show you their skills with pyramids, barefoot waterskiing, and other stunts. You can watch from the Long Lake town beach!
July 25, Amazing Road Race Rally
You can enter the Amazing Road Race Rally yourself, for only $5 a car! Participate for your chance to win a price of up to $50. Head to Geiger Arena at 7 p.m., where you will be given a set of super silly instructions to follow, then try to be the first one to finish!
July 27, Paddling Olympics
Registration for the Long Lake Paddling Olympics are free and start at 10:30 a.m. Anyone is welcome to participate in the events of the day. The Lions Club will also be serving up a BBQ lunch!
August 1, Swimming Races
Want a chance to win tickets to Enchanted Forest Water Safari? Enter this year's Swimming Races at the Long Lake town beach at 10 a.m. to compete. All ages from young kids to adults are welcome to participate.
August 15, Scavenger Hunt
If you're feelin' Long Lakey, join the Scavenger Hunt. This year's hunt will kick off from Geiger Arena at 10 a.m. All ages are welcome to participate. All you have to do is pick up your scavenger hunt list and head around town to find as many items as you can. Bring your items back to Geiger Arena by 4 p.m. to see if you've won!
August 18, Band on the Beach
Go to the Long Lake town beach to jam out on the beach for a fun, end of summer bash. Watch the Band on the Beach! The Bad Chaperones will put on a show from 7- 9 p.m. Bring a beach chair and settle in for a night of entertainment.
