Lake Adirondack

Lake Adirondack

Lake Adirondack is also known as Adirondack Lake. Once on the lake be sure to check out the northeast bay for the most scenic areas. The shallows and many small islands give the lake some neat features to explore. Even with much of the shore being private, this is a worthy fishing and paddling destination.

Getting there

From the intersection of Route 28 and Route 30 in the hamlet of Indian Lake, follow Route 28 south and continue for 0.5 mile to Byron Park on the left. Access is also available off Adirondack Lake Road at the town beach.

Fishing

Shoreline fishing is decent from the park or in the vicinity of the beach area. Fish species include: bass, northern pike, perch, panfish. The northeast bay, which is rather large and shallow, is an excellent spot for jigging for panfish. The deepest hole near the dam — a mere 16 feet — is where the largemouth bass are hiding. If you're looking for northerns, you need to be out in the open spaces of the lake.

Paddling

Canoe and kayak launch only.
