Point Comfort State Campground

Point Comfort State Campground and Little Sand Point Campground have been consolidated into Piseco Lake Campground and Day use Area. Now called the Point Comfort Loop, take in the sights from sandy beaches and incredible rolling hills all around as you hike, swim, paddle, and fish. 

Camping

Located on picturesque Piseco Lake and offers activities such as hiking, swimming, sailing, boating and fishing. It has the largest natural sand beach in the Adirondacks and a large day use area. A day use pass is required for use of the boat launch.

How to get there

From the intersection of Route 8 & 30 in Speculator and drive west on Route 8 for 8.8 miles. Take a right onto Old Piseco Road (Casey's Corner's Convenience Store & Gas on corner) and drive for 6.8 miles to reach Poplar Point on the left side of the road. (2 miles past the Little Sand Point Loop)

Paddling

Motor boats, rowboats, and canoes allowed. A boat launch is available.

Fishing

Fish for walleye, rainbow trout, brown trout, lake trout, smallmouth bass, brown bullhead, perch, rock bass, and whitefish.

Swimming

The largest natural sand beach in the Adirondacks.
