The Indian Lake Island Campground boasts one of the newest and modern launch sites in the area, with a large concrete ramp that can facilitate the largest trailered boats with enough parking for most rigs. The Indian Lake Islands campground has 55 remote water-access only sites for which the launch site is critical to get to the remote campsites. There is also a hand launch for smaller boats next to the main ramp. Water access between Lewey Lake and Indian Lake is via portage over the spillway underneath the bridge on Route 30, usually restricted to small boats, canoes, and kayaks.

Fishing in Indian Lake
Indian Lake is well known for its large lake trout population, in addition to landlocked salmon and northern pike due to the depth of the lake. Rock bass, rainbow and brown trout are among the more popular sport fish, in addition to common pan fish that occupy most of the lake.
How to get there
Drive north on Route 30 from the main intersection (the "4 corners") of State Route 30 and State Route 8 in Speculator and you'll reach Indian Lake Island DEC Campsite Boat Launch at 12.3 miles, just past the Lewey Lake Campsites. The launch access will be located on the right side of the road.
