The Mission of the Old Forge Library is to provide materials and services to enhance the quality of life in our community.
We welcome and support all in the pursuit of lifelong learning. We believe that the freedoms to read, to learn, to inspire, and to discover will provide enjoyment, enrich lives and strengthen our community. We strive to provide equal access to information, ideas and knowledge through books, programs, the arts, and other resources to year-round and seasonal residents.
The Library is a cultural hub for the community; with a rich and diverse year-round schedule of performances, concerts, art exhibits, author presentations, and hands-on creative workshops. There are never admission fees, materials fees or other costs associated to attend programming.
Annual highlights of programs we provide are a summer outdoor concert series, book buddy programs for first and second graders, grab-n-go arts activity bags, creative craft nights, and community celebrations of the solstices and equinoxes.
The Library provides a small food pantry available 24/7 that allows residents to anonymously take food and toiletries as needed.
